Kill the Messenger is a collection of demos, live recordings and rare tracks from 2006-2009, the years in which Cogman's first three albums were written and recorded.
19 songs are included, including three songs that have never been released in any form prior to now. Other interesting rarities include a soloed track of the whispers from "Chiaroscuro" on Cogman's first album, Welcome to the Danger Show.
Cogman says in the liner notes, "I’ve only chosen tracks that I feel have something new to offer to you, the listener."
The digital booklet includes a collection of photos, as well as small essays on each track with descriptions of its origin and its reason for inclusion on the album.
